Worth a recon with Chase?

I have good credit and fico scores over 740 aross the board but in the past a little over 7 years ago I had a chase card that was CO for around 4k but paid immediately 3 months after CO.  Bad time in my life.   That passed 7 years and was removed from my CRA reports and no derogs on any of my reports.  I just apped for a chase freedom but got denied for past delinquincy with chase.   I thought I might take a chance with them since it was paid off.  Would reconing with them get me anywhere?  Or do they blacklist for life?  I might have gotten instant approval if I did not app on Saturday night when there site was down.  I know this cause I bank with them and had a notice on the site that the site was down due to maintanance.  I apped on Saturday night but got the "your app needs further review" message when the site was down and they did not pull my report till Monday.  They probably did a manual review when they pulled it.  So is a recon going to get me anywhere since they stated "past delinquincy with chase" as the reason for denial?

I wish you were around to see the Chase blacklist thread (very recent). The only chance of getting a Chase card is limited to a Slate card. Yes definately recon! The worst they can say is No. But you took the hit so try your best to get back in with them.

I would definitely attempt a recon. You took a hit for applying, so you might as well burn that inquiry into the ground. I was never successful with Recon's at Chase, but I hope you can say different! Good luck! Fingers crossed!! Smiley Happy

Re: Worth a recon with Chase?

Same situation as your past.

I apped for one Chase, denied; then another, denied; then the Slate dnied.  All online.

With the Slate I actually read the letter they sent concerning this one and saw that I had a "duplicate account" or something along those lines.

So I looked up a number on the sticky thread and called in.  I figured that one of my prior denials may have been an approval and now I was gonna get my card yo!

Nope.  The account was a CO from way back.  Vaguely even remember having a Chase lol.  But recon/review and the Slate arrived about a week later.

It's an In as far as I'm concerned for a different Chase in the future.

Definately recon.  You took the hit so you have nothing to loose at this point.
