Would this be a smart idea?

My girlfriend wants to buy a macbook air (800$) because she just got a promotion.

She wants me to pay it off and she will pay it over a couple months time.

Will that boost my credit or hurt it?

Re: Would this be a smart idea?

Depends on where this puts you UTL wise and how long you'll be carrying the balance

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Won't hurt you at all if that's your plan and you stick with it

Re: Would this be a smart idea?

If you buy at bestbuy and use the credit card but don't take the 0% financing you can get another 10% back in rewards.

is she student, she can also get $100 student discount off apple

Util has no history, so if you dont plan on apping for any new credit in the near future you will be fine. It will only help to build your relationship with CCC

Re: Would this be a smart idea?

I'm gonna use my amex delta and get the miles but would it help putting that money through it then paying it off over the course of 2 months to get that 3x cli?
Or should I use a different card

Hard to say, personaly i think it would help. it whould show that you know how to manage debt. Im curently doing that for my BCE. I put about a 1000 ballance on it and am paying 150 a month. My 181 day cli is coming up in about 2 months

Has she tried to get credit, Barclays is notoriously easy to get the Apple card, Then she is building her credit, and she will be better for it.
