While I was in DMP, I had some dealings with AE and their CSRs. All I will say is be afraid, very afraid in asking for trouble from them.
I would not ask for a CLI from ANY CCC these days and AE is last on the list.
Fine. You talked me out of it. The AF on the other card hasn't hit yet, so I'm not worried about it for now.
The item I'm buying isn't so expensive that it can't be paid off.
I'm making a fairly large purchase. Should I call them and let them know? I've have more than this on the card before, but not all in one purchase.

Definitely call and let them know if you are making a purchase out of your normal spending patterns. Amex is weird about that.
