So I used the X1 card for the first time today and it hit me I never set up where to pull payments from on the App. I usually do stuff like that online/PC but everything with X1 is set up on the phone app. When I was about to add my main checking account, I noticed the app already had a Chase account set up as a payment source. That's fine I thought, they probably got that info from Plaid when I apped for the card. The only thing is it shows my account as ..xxxx assuming those last 4 #s are representing my last 4 of my checking account, only issue is that they aren't. As a matter of fact those numbers in that order are not in my checking account. So what happened here? Was wondering if anyone else with an X1 card noticed this? Are they using virtual numbers maybe?
That's an odd one. I found my X1 card had pre-loaded ALL the deposit accounts at the bank I used during setup --- my checking, savings and business checking. Last 4 digits were not masked, I'd contact them -- text is quickest way to get a response -- and find-out exactly what's going on.
@Wavester64 - that's how it's set up through Plaid. It won't match up numerically with what's linked.
You probably flew through the process where it indicated how it'd display on the X1 interface and didn't read that particular piece? IME, that's how some of them turned out, but the disclaimer was there during the linking process.
So, if that's the only bank account when you applied and used through Plaid, then that's typically the end result.
I don't remember setting it up but I just checked my app and it shows the bank my payments are coming from as well as the last 4 digits of that checking account.

I believe it depends on the FI being linked via Plaid. Some FIs assign a different numerical identifier to linked accounts.

Thanks @FinStar . I guess the only way to test this is to send a $10 payment and see how it goes.
My first payment to them was returned because I didn't check and they tried to pull my first payment from my savings account instead of my checking account. Of course they weren't gonna be able to pull from savings and so I paid an extra $10 returned payment fee. Ugh. Why they thought pulling payment by default from a savings account was a good idea I have no clue.
