My card limit was increased from $1000 to $1300 through their Leap program in the app. I have my monthly Wall Street Journal Subscription paid by Petal Card, other than that I do not use because I have zero benefits through them. I have no intention of closing the account, the questions are your thoughts, would you use other cards which give you far benefits such Cashback or points. I am just curious, I have similar dilemma with Mission Lane Credit Card.
I have both, the Petal 1 with no cb and the no af mission lane with 1.5% cb on everything.
My Petal 1 is in the subscriptions drawer. They gave me a $200 increase using leap, so I have 1 app subscription on it to keep it active each month until they offer me a Petal 2 with cb or close it. Just keeping it for age and emergency backup until they offer something better.
My Mission Lane has no af and gives me 1.5% cb on any purchase, unlimited spend. They started me at $1k and I've read the first Auto increase is 7 to 8 months from opening. That's next month for me. So far so good. I needed Emergency cash the other day while traveling and it worked just fine on an ATM.
If you don't have the no af 1.5% mission lane version, maybe contact a rep and request a PC (product change). I know they only allow 1 card per person regardless of card version. So you'll either have to PC your card or cancel it and App for the 1.5% version.
The PC is probably the better option if available. If you want to keep the card that is.
I was approved for Petal 1 Visa last month $3,500 SL. After I let them connected to my bank account then I have an option to click on it for CLI, after I clicked on it, my limit jump up to $4,900. I've just received the first statement from them, not reported to any credit bureaus yet.
About Mission Lane Card, I tried "See If I'll Be Approved" on their website then I see this message: "Sorry, we are not issuing credit cards in ME, WV, MD, NV, MA, and ND yet."
I have the Mission Lane $19 AF was approved seven months ago with starting limit of $1,000 with scores around 595. They auto increased the limit to $1,500 at seven months. I've had no issues with them.
