Re: Znyc approval

Congrats but don't apply for anything else for the next six months or so.  Barclay is a terrified of new accounts and inquiries after you open a new account with them.  Add anything else and you risk AA from them.

Re: Znyc approval

Boomhower I have a question about that. I really wanted to add a Discover Card to my portfolio before I go back to the garden. I was approved for the Barclay's Card yesterday, do you think its best to wait it out for the next six months so that I don't risk AA from Barclay's, or is it safe to add one card if I don't apply for any other cards?

This one is the ultimate YMMV in the credit card world...

There are people on this board who report that even the slightest new account activities - inquiries, new TLs, etc. - seem to trigger account reviews and subsequent CLDs (or even closure) by Barclay, while there are others who report going on app sprees after Barclay with seemingly no impact whatsoever.

Bottom-line: You apply for new credit at your own risk when you take on a Barclay credit card. I am a relatively new Barclay Apple cardholder - and even though their CS reps seemed to frown on the possibility that they watch new accounts that closely, there is simply too much empirical evidence to ignore the possibility.

Re: Znyc approval

Your right.......I have spent some time researching and I am going to wait until my probation period is up. I've waited too long and have worked too hard for this card and I'm not going to compromise it in any way. I hear they are great with auto-cli so when the time comes I'll be ready LOL Thanks creditcrusader

Sucks I know, but here's the good news: This misery seems to pass after the 6 month mark. I have yet to read anyone getting CLD or closed for app/TLs beyond the 6 month mark Smiley Happy

Re: Znyc approval

That's good to know. Hopefully my score would have recovered by then. On a positive note, they did bump my limit up today from $1500 to $2000......and with 0% on balance transfers I'm very haapy with my card. I say mission accomplished. Could not have done it without the help from this board!!!!!
