Hi guys,
So my husband had only one credit card Cap one for $400
So we opened a NFCU CC and he opened a Macy's card
He also mentioned that he wanted a Nordstrom card, but with his scores I don't think he'll get approved,
So I thought it would be a good idea to add him as a joint account holder.
Okay so here's my question....
Does he have to have a good credit score in order to be approved as a joint account holder?
I called and asked Nordstrom and the guy said "yeeeessss"
He didn't sound very sure, so I wanted to ask you guys.
After or if he gets added this will be it, I just thought it would be a good idea for him to have a good mixture of CC's.
TIA
Are you certain they allow joint additions after the card has been approved? I know they allow AUs to be added but uncertain about joint
Yes, the guy said they were sending out the paper work and I should be recieving it in 7-10 days.
I didn't know that they even did this, but when I called and asked if I could add him as a AU they offered to add him as a joint account holder, if I wanted.

Thanks for the information. As to whether it will benefit DH, it really depends on the age of the account, pyt history, util etc. Nordstrom will grow and eventually you can ask for the Visa - also the CLI's are SP's.
Good to know!
Thanks for the reply!
And to answer your question about credit score, generally his credit should be acceptable. Since I'm not familiar with their procedures but in most cases a cr may be pulled and can inhibit approval. However, there are some lenders that do not pull CR's for joint applicants.
