finally went for it and got declined... reason... american express account indicates previous delinquincies!
I have never missed a payment with them in 16 years! can a CLI be reconed?
I would give them a call. That message makes no sense for someone who has a perfect track record. Have your checked your reports lately?
Generally, no a CLI cannot be reconned. But I would suggest contacting them regarding your accounts to make sure the information they have internally is accurate. Are these the only accounts you've had with them in 16 years? None that were opened, closed by you or PCd that might have been delinquent?

I had a optima with them that I closed almost 15 years ago. Im sure I closed it with good terms, im sure I didnt owe anything. but it was 15 years ago. it must have something to do with that.

the more I think abou **bleep**, could it be that a charge posted maybe after I closed it and I didnt know???
even if it did, it wouldnt be much, like under $100 and this was 15 years ago.
how can they give me a charge card and a revolver with a $5k limit instantly approved and deny a CLI? my scores are in the 790-810 range with a thick file, no baddies.

even on my zync, I can charge a $30,000 charge and it would be approved via the "will my charge be approved thingy"
if they are remembering a less then $100 issue if it is that... it just doesnt make sense
