Is everybody getting the 25% discount shopping in MR store. I still think its pretty horrible deal when most stuff you buy in store is already at .5 CPP value. Am i not understanding how this is an good deal in an shape or form ?

I don't see the discount so it may be targetted. But, as you say, still lousy!
However, on the Amex forum, there are people who have been accumulating MRs for a long time, and cash them in for merchandise or giftcards. This is certainly not the best use, as posted elsewhere today, if you are not redeeming MR for travel there are better choices than MR cards (except perhaps for bonuses).

accumulating MR for buying merchandise is like throwing away money to me , i personally don't get it. I guess its better than using debit cards or cash, but i don't understand why people have MR based cards and use it for cash instead of just getting one of the blue cash cards.
I got my PRG for the 50k bonus. Trying to decide what to do with it, as I don't travel much. Probably gonna end up with a giftcard, but I wish Amex let you get cash...
Received the promo, but would never redeem merchandise.
The only time I'm tempted to redeem other than direct transfer is when once in a blue moon Amex travel has a good price on a hotel redeemable with a 20% points discount through the Bus Plat.
