Hmmm...sounds like it may be a denial. I just did my 61 day Friday and got an instant (positive) decision.
AMEX is not great with recons, but I would call them now (if nothing else just so you're not waiting around for a week).

Not always (I actually got a full 3X CLI after a 7-10 day message, but I was about the only one at that time who'd ever gotten that, and it was updated online within a day that I'd gotten it) but anecdotally it's usually a denial.

Based on your thead in CCA, I am going to guess its the recent spree + AAOA that caused the denial. IMO, thicker files can handle sprees before asking AMEX for a cli on new accounts. They have a credit profile which has handled multiple cc's. Newer, thinner files that go on sprees and then ask for a CLI on a new Amex generally do not fare as well. Your history with them is too new and you have new tls without an adequate pyt history. I wouuld guess in 6 mos, you will be in a better position with Amex.
