chase product change question

I had a WaMu card.. switched to chase tjx card.. so I gave it shot and just called Chase to see what kind of reward cards i could switch.. csr said they cannot switch a store branded card and I would have to apply for another card... Hmmmmmmm sounds like a bunch of crap to me..has anyone else had this issue?

Is the store branded card a mastercard/visa? Or in-house only?

I would assume the reason they won't let you PC is because store branded card are typically FAR easier to get approved for. Because of this, without running a new application, they don't know if you will be a good fit for one of their credit products.

I am just taking a shot in the dark.

Thanks and that crossed my mind also... especially since I never really app'd with chase and did a product change to the Chase card I havr from the WaMu conversion.. oh well I wouldn't dare app with my BK on file... I will wait another year.. at least they are giving me auto increases..300 each but I will take them!!!! Lol

What is the store?    I think a lot of the stores prohibit a product change away from their store.

It is the Chase tj maxx where i recieve rewards for shopping at marshalls, home goods, aj wright and of course tj maxx.. I like the rewards becuz I get a lot of home items and kids clothing but Chase freedom would be great... bummer

Same Thing here I wanted to product change from a flex Card to a freedom Card. They said no.

That I would have to new app for  freedom card.

So I barely use the card Use it just enough to prevent closure's I ask for a CLI they gave me $1000 more  = $5000 total

but is cost me a hard inquiry. No soft pulls
