Hello everyone,
I am new to this sort of things, but I have been doing alot of research lately about credit cards. I read that the chase is the best card out there for balance transfer. However, I am scared to apply since I am in the process of rebuilding my credit and do not want a hard hit for nothing. I am looking for some advice regarding if I should apply for the card with my current credit profile: myfico score :649-646-656, some missed payments around 2013, and 3 collections which 2 of them are paid off, and util around 39% right now but will go down. Please I need some advice I have a balance from tidewater finance that I would like to transfer the interest is killing me.
I would try their pre-qualify on their website to see if you have any offers. It is rather accurate for an approval. If you apply with or without a pre-approval and get denied, their reconsideration team is great and will do a manual review if you request.
If you don't pre-qualify, I would wait until your utilization is a little lower.
Thanks for your reply. I did try the pre-approval site and found no offer. My next move will be to bring my util down to below 30 and then give a try. However, one thing s bugging me is that in last 2 years I mounted 15 inquiries that might a bit of an issue, I think. So far, I have read that Chase is very Hard to get especially with a credit profile like mine.
