I have qs also and want amex fidelity also,so you aren't only one lol
With Fidelity, you redeem at $25 incremental. With Capital One I believe you can redeem whenever you want. For small spender later is preferable.
What's really crazy is wanting QS after having a Fidelity Amex ![]()

Nothing crazy about that. Not every place takes AMEX. Plus QS being Capital One has no FTF.

LOL
I would like to app for Fidelity AMEX next March in the spirit of St. Patricks Day...soooo Green.
On my list for whenever I get out of the garden.

Not really, if you find enough of the places you go don't take Amex....
But to answer OP's question: not crazy but possibly not necessary. If INQs aren't an issue, then sure, may as well get it and get the 0.5% extra. But if there is a limit to the cards you can apply for, and your spending is small, the additional amount added by the Amex might well be a lot less than the sign up bonus on a different card.
If you spend $10K a year, the Amex saves $50 over the QS. If you get say the BCE offer for $250 sign up, that is a better choice from the cash view.
agreed, all around.
the .05% is not worth an additional INQ plus it would lower my AAoA AND the signup bonus of a miserable $75 is pathetic. but there is still something about that card that gets me...grrr

It actually depends on how you're redeeming it. But I too have a QS and like that you can redeem whenever you want.
You only really get your money's worth if you redeem it into a Fidelity account. Check/Statement credit you only get 1/2 which puts you back at 1% (until the threshold, see below). And don't even bother with gift card. it's 3500 points for $25.
