fiAMEX ZYNC...

So I got my AMEX ZYNC in the mail yesterday and I have racked up $800 dlls in 2 days... I was wondering what's usually the limit on the first month? I was thinking on buying an apple Mac Book Pro which is around $1400 I wanna make sure that goes thru and not decline at the register. And do u get 1 point for every dollar spent ? and also is the connect pack a good pack to get for the card? thanks in advance!

Congrats on the Zync approval !

Since you're a new member with AMEX, make sure to call them and notify the CR whether or not a large purchased will be approved. Otherwise, the chances of being decline are more than likely. Also, if you visit your account online, you can check the spending availability option. I would just call AMEX to be on the safe side.

For the most part, you will receive 1 point for every dollar spent. I don't know much about the connect pack so I can't comment on that. IMO the packs are only good if you spend heavily on that one particular area. Therefore, the points will accumulate and outweigh the annual cost.

Have fun with your new Zync and don't forget to call them whether or not you can charge $1400.

I will just check spending ability online. If approved, nothing better, else pay off the current due and retry in 2-3 days and you should get an approval.

Re: fiAMEX ZYNC...

I am a little over 3 weeks in my first month with the AMEX Zync card and put just about $500 on it so far.

Hearing that AMEX puts a $500 limit for some people, I wanted to pay my current balance off even though I have not received a billing statement so I wouldn't be declined on everyday purchases like groceries and such. I called customer service to ask if I could pay my balance before I receive my first bill citing I was nervous about what they consider to be my secret monthly spending ability.

Because I'm within my first month, the service rep was unsure so she tried to process a payment. She accidentally submitted it and awarded me some American Express points for the inconvenience (even though I was going to do it anyways, lol, so it was more of a convenience!). She then checked if I could make a $1500 purchase and it approved, putting my monthly ability at $2000ish (1500 + current 500).

I'm guessing my typical month will fall around $800-$1200 in usage.
