Hi. I am new here. Just wondering if someone can explain to me step by step on how to use the shopping cart trick?

i have read some post but i am still confused. my score according to quizzle is 528. thx in advance.

The shopping cart trick only works at select online retailers.

So for instance, you want to try doing it at victoria secret.  Go ahead and put some stuff into the shopping cart.  Head to checkout--but do not sign in (even if you have an account).  Fill out all the information as you would if you are a new guest checking out.  Once you've put in all the pertinent info, it will likely do a soft pull and if applicable, approve you for an account.  At that point you can choose to accept or quit.  There is no need to complete the sale transaction.

I suggest only getting 1-2 cards this way.. These boards are full of posters with regret over using this method.. You will destroy your AAoA for several low limit store cards that you will likely barely use. Most don't even have decent rewards programs, just high interest rates ensuring there is no reason to ever use thier cards.

1-2 to start revolving history is your best bet, then work on removing derogs and getting Visa/MCs from capital one. Then Barclays once your at 630 or so..

thx west n gardner. i actually did try vs. but i followed what another thread mentioned. i logged in first then added to cart. no pop up pre approval.

just to be clear. i do not log in to the site like vs or gamestop correct?

just do what west above mentioned?

Score may be too low for pre-approval.

Get some FICO's for a better idea on overall credit picture.

FICO is the credit scoring model that is given on this site and the one that most credit card issuers use.  Quizzes is what's known as a FAKO and not a score that anyone uses.  However if your real credit score is close to 528, you won't qualify for credit with the sites that have the Shopping Cart Trick and thus the popup will never appear

AAoA Is Average Age of Accounts, basically hold old are the accounts that appear on your report.  The older your accounts the better

thx. what would be the best way to find out what name and address is on my reports?

i used quizzle yesterday but i cannot see my name and address?

Check your credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com.  It will show you your credit reports but not your score
