When was the last time you received a guideline increase? If its been longer than 3 months you should be able to get one. I dont know if you can do it online or have to call, if you will search in this forum you can find where people with the card click or call to get an increase.
You should be able to get a guideline increase though if it has been longer than 3 or 4 months since your last increase. Good luck and let us know how it turns out either way.
I do know my sister in law got an increase and she was within 100$ of her limit in January so I dont think the balance will necessarily keep you from getting an increase but it might effect how much of an increase you get.Macy's gave me a $700 CLI last month. From $2,500 to $3200. And unfortuneately I do carry a balance. Hope that helps

I think my balance was 1,600. I purchased a recliner which caused my balance to go up quite a lot. I think it's pretty much an internal process with Macys. I've had the card since 2001 and didn't use it much until about 4 years ago. As long as you don't have any lates with them it's pretty easy to get an incease. I had a bankruptcy in 2001. I currently owe about 44% on all my cards together, which I'm working hard to get down. Macy's has been really good to me. I got my last increase about 18 months ago.
Just curious did you charge this to your -20 regular revolving account. One complaint I have for Macy's is I have taken advantage on their 0% interest financing on furniture, jewlery, and other major purchase promos before and it seems like everytime I do that they open a new sub account on my main macy's account. I think I'm up to 4 different macy's accounts each with their own credit line. It also seems like they open these sub accounts without even explaining to you that you will be opening up another account with them. This has hurt my credit in some respect becauseI think it affects my AAoA. -My lil complaint on the Macy's charge card.... Anyone else have this issue with Macys?
