suppose you have a 39k income, and you have 10 cards worth 40k or maybe 80k of available credit but seldom use the cards enough for the ccc's to make any money on interest. do they start lowering your cl's, or cancel your card. should you carry some small amount on each just to give them a little? maybe take turns on one or two and switch to another pair. i guess i'm wondering, what'sin it for them if you don't use it.
most likley as long as you use once in a while the creditor will leave alone as long as your overall credit is good.
I have the cards in my sig with a 38k income. I have not been CLD'd or denied for having too much credit. I pay in full every month and never paid the credit card companies any interest. I have 4 or 5 cards I use every month and the other 5 I usually have a reoccuring bill on them every month just to keep them active.
I just exceeded 2x income in overall limits and Im still going strong, I never change my overall use of the cards and that is key, if you were to suddenly go out and run them up that would be a signal to the creditors that something maybe amiss. Just do what you always have done and dont worry about it.

Remember banks make money off of us in two ways: Interest on the balance and transaction/swipe fees. So as long as you are using your cards once in awhile and PIF, they are still making money from you and will probably leave you alone.

+1
And no actual evidence that this is true, but I would also try to reduce their costs of having you as a customer: so electronic statements only, electronic pay only, don't call often. I have cards that I haven't used for years, and they stay open.

I make 70k/year and have over 150k in available credit card credit...you should be fine.
Won't they give you that "DTI is too high" thing?
