How do I request one? Is it auromatic, or is there a way to request a cli on the website?

You are best to call them.  Let them know that you are requesting a CLI so that you may answer any immediate questions before they send to process it.  It could be possible to NOT get a HARD INQUIRY that way.  Some have said that.  If you go online and do it, you are guaranteed a HARD INQUIRY for the CLI.  Call if you have had the card(s) for at least six (6) months.

I agree. It's best to call them.

And if you'd like to optimize your chances for getting

a credit limit increase, I recommend that you pay off

the balance (best case) or at least get it to 10% or less

of the limit.
