orchard bank/HSBC

I think I may have gotten an inquiry for nothing.  I applied for an orchard bank card and was approved a week ago instantly but  have not received an information.  I just went to the HSBC website and put in my information for a pre approval and was pre approved for a HSBC rebuilder card. I went ahead and submitted my application and was asked what kind of design I wanted for my card.  I was told I would receive an email with the customer service information and a link to check the status of my application.  However, I was reading somewhere on the forum where it says you can't have more than one HSBC at a time.  I was just wondering if anyone has been able to pull this off.

I don't think you will get to cards right off the back. But hey these banks can be very funny so who really knows.

quick question first48 -

what kind of designs did they offer for you? was it for the secured card?

Candice, it was not for the secured card.  I had 2 choices 1 was a cityscape and the other was a canoe design.

There are people here with multiple HSBC cards. I just tossed my Orchard  card but still have a Best Buy. They are both HSBC.

Last year you could be approved for an Orchard and an HSBC the same day. I know. I was. An Experian pull for a $400 Orchard card and a TU pull for a 5K HSBC. The same day. Believe me at the time I didn't think the second app was for the toy rebuilder card. LOL. What a surprise. Congratulations. You've been approved for $400. Closed that bad boy but quick.

just to comment on how many hsbc cards one may have at anytime. i had 3

orchard which is hsbc.

Hsbc M/C.

Best Buy  M/C which is hsbc.

To try and help clarify-

The Store card (BB) does not count-

If you had more than 2 in the past they won't take one away

If you have an HSBC (HSBC, Orchard, Houshold bank) you must be invited to apply for a second card.

When I checked the status of my HSBC credit application it stated 10 to 14 days because they weren't finished with my application.  Orchard still said I was going to receive my card in 10-14 days.  I called Orchard yesterday to find out the status of the card and to see what kind of limit I had and I was told 300.00 with a 19 dollar processing fee and that they were validating my funds.  I called HSBC today to check the status of that application and was told I was approved and that my Orchard card had been declined because they approved this one and that I would be getting refund on my 19 dollar processing fee that they have already taken out of my account.  What is up with this.

I applied for Orchard and Household. Got them both.

Then I received an invitation to apply for an HSBC card. Got that one.

Then I applied for and received a Best Buy Visa.

I just recently closed the Household because I never got a CLI from them after almost 3 years.
