penfed gold visa

Anybody here with any experiences on the Penfold Gold Visa......other than a "low" APR ....not sure of the perks for this card.

Re: penfed gold visa

This is a no-frills card, so the only perks would be a lower APR, no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees.  It often comes with with a signup bonus, a balance transfer offer, or both.  That is essentially it; no rewards are earned on purchases.

@ecxpa it's a great credit card! I got the 12 month 0 percent interest plus if you spend $1500 within 90 days you get a $100 statement credit which I already received after spending $1500. Go for it it's a great credit card. Good Luck!

Re: penfed gold visa

I have never had the PenFed Gold, but I have had the PenFed Promise which is almost the same, and it's been a reliable no-frills card.  Neither card has rewards, but that's ok because neither card is for that audience.

Daily Carry: PenFed Power Cash • NFCU Flagship • NFCU More Rewards • Chase Freedom
Sock Drawer: PenFed Promise • NFCU cashRewards • Chase Sapphire Preferred • Chase Freedom Unlimited • United Explorer • UNFCU Azure

Re: penfed gold visa

Was going to make a new post about this in approvals. Will do it soon. My best friend she got a starting limit of $17,500 at around 15.49%. When my DearWife found out, she also tried too! They both have in common is their Chase cards are pretty much maxed out lol (they both wanted to do a large balance transfer) So my DW also got $17,500 ! same APR! So I was like you know what, im supposed to be in the garden ill just try. I got $5,000 at 17.99% ??? Im like what the!! My biggest diferrence between the women is I have more inqureis than them, recent accounts maybe 2 new accounts in the last 6 months. Income my wife and I always claim both of ours, so pretty much same application, but PenFed does look at inquires and new accounts. All of our scores are around 670 FICO 9.

Re: penfed gold visa

I have the Promise Visa with no perks  with 29.5k CL;  use it some to keep the CL.  The SUB looks good but that's about it; considering passing it up, but I have the dreaded itch to get a new card.

What makes it great?  There are other cards with a longer 0% APR and higher SUB that also give rewards (e.g. Chase Freedom currently has a $200 SUB, 15 month 0% APR and has pretty good rewards).   Is it just the lowish APR?
