question about amex

hi guys ,

i luv this forum u guys r very helpful. but my question is how high must ur fico score be to be approved for a Amex green, i applyed to them a month ago and they reply by telling me to wait a while and reapply again. And now they keep sending me emails every week telling me apply. the reson they did not approve was because my fico score was to low. should i reapply again my score r now (ex.708/eq.695/tran.715)  thx guys u guys r the best and god bless u all

You should be fine for Green I would go for it now. If you look on Who Gave Me Credir.com youl see that your score are good for Green.

Re: question about amex

how long exactly did they say to wait b4 reapping?  what was your fico score when you apped last month?  they do look good now.  was low score the only reason listed for the denial?

Then I would hold off. Get some more age on your history and let those inqs get old and fall off, especially the ones on EX.

Looks like AmEx is going back to their older approval models!

(and these are FICO scores from here, right, not credit scores from freecreditreport.com, TrueCredit, CreditSecure, the bureaus, etc.?)

i wouldn't recommend reapplying amex with the same scores you were denied with just a month ago for fico too low?  i've never heard of amex recommending a reapp a month later to anyone with 13,14 inqs already.  that doesn't seem right.

in any event, while you bring down your boa balance,  maybe you can do some gardening as you wait for your inqs. to age off.  they used to pull ex. almost exclusively but are sometimes now pulling two or all three cbr's presumably for borderline cases.  it would stand to reason that at best you are bordeline right now considering the recent denial and same scores.

i say build and revisit the issue again in 6 months to a year.  it sure wouldn't hurt for you to have 2 full years of history b4 you reapp esp. since realistically you have a few too many inq.'s to app. w/ amex in this climate right now anyway.  you will be rewarded for your patience.

Re: question about amex

I just recently got my Grandmother APPROVED for an AMERICAN EXPRESS DELTA SKYMILES card.  It only has a $1,000 limit.  However, at least she is now in with the AMERICAN EXPRESS family.  She has 1 CA and 2 slow pay accounts on her EX report.  Her FICO score was 662.
