I started my credit journey about (actually exactly) a year and a half ago with a Bank of America Cash Rewards CC. Since then I've gone a little crazy with applications ever since my Chase Freedom approval in July of 2014. I've read that Chase will occasionally give CLIs to some CCs after a period of months. I received one about a month ago which raised my limit to $3,500. However, I've also applied and been approved for the CSP and Marriott Rewards card.
Basically my question is should I expect a subsiquent increase on one of those accounts in the future with all these accounts being open? My goal is to accumulate $5,000 to make my Freedom a Visa Signature card. I want this due to Amazon being on the 5% bonus categories pretty frequently and I want the extended warranty and other stuff. All my accounts are in good standing and my util is at around 4ish%. I'm paying for college with my cards and paying the tuition in full after the balance shows. Anyways, thanks for any responses :]

I got my Chase Amazon in Feb 2014 with $500, Freedom and Sapphire ( the the CSP) in June 2014 with $3,500 for the Freedom and $5,000 to the Sapphire. Got the CSP and Marriot premier cards in August with $5,000 each. Transfered $500 from the sapphire to my Amazon to make it $1,000. Got a CLI i didnt even ask for on my Freedom by $1,000 to increase to $4,500 in September. Got the Chase Slate for $500 and transfered and closed my Sapphire to my Slate to make $5,000. Probably will close the Slate after i pay off the BT i am planning on doing and moving that limit to my Freedom.
In short I got my Freedom CLI even after getting 2 new cards
I am not recommending this as the best course of action, but assuming your need for the Visa Signature Freedom was life or death you could see if your pre-qualified for a Chase Slate card. If you are, you could apply for it and once your approved (hopefully for a CL in excess of 1500) you could move the credit limit to your Freedom. Once the Freedom had a CL above 5000 you could call and ask for a replacement card and it would likely be a Visa Signature. There are downsides to this, but if you want it bad enough it would acheive your desired result.
I thought one had to wait x amount of time before moving CL's.
thanks for the responses :] it's not really a life or death thing. I can't upgrade to Visa Sig until I've had the card for 13 months anyways. Just was wondering on the chances of them upping me again for the freedom or auto CLIing the Marriott or Sapphire. If chances are unlikely i'd probably just initiate one at the cost of a hard pull. I don't really want to resort to that since i already have plenty of HPs. Was wondering this cause if chances are okay that they'd increase me, i'd be willing to wait. if not i'd request a CLI when the 13th month comes aroung

Impossible to say. It's not simply a matter of new accounts versus no new accounts. One could have a number of new accounts and CLI's while the next could not see any CLI's. It all depends on your credit and income and how it stacks up against Chase's criteria as well as whether or not you've bumped into your internal limit with Chase.

Not in my experience but it has been a while since I've done so with Chase. All of my cards were new at the time.
