so I had a JCB card 2 years ago. the creditor closed my account I'm assuming by doing soft pulls and noticing I was at nearly maxed on all my cards with a score in the high 500s. I now have a score in the 730s and utilization is in the 20/30% range with just a balance on 2 out of 12 cards. I have since frozen all 3 reports AFTER JCB closed my account. so when I apply for second new card, will JCB be able to access my report?
Not until you unfreeze your credit reports.
When it comes to Cap1/Chase/Citi/Bank of America have all your credit reports open or when you call for RECON have the PIN # ready with you for whichever Bureau they ask of.
I recently applied for Chase Freedom & had EX available but i was told that i would need to un-freeze my TransUnion and EQ if i wanted to be considered for the app.
I flatly denied unfreezing.
damnit. all 3? who do they pull?
they pulled all three credit bureaus. as of June 2014. I m in Texas.
wait. JCB pulls all 3? if that's the case then forget it.
Quite unusual for them to pull all three. However it is not unheard of.....Normally they pull just one.
JCB does it very old school. I have to use pen, fill out the form, get a stamp and mail it in. I guess I'll call Monday and see if I can get any answers. in the meantime they are still reporting a paid on time status to the CBs.
ok so instead of searching my question, I just searched jcb here. found out a lot and I think I'll get my Amex 3x cli first, wait 3 months, then apply for JCB. they pull EX and/or sometimes TU.
