Re: walmart

gemb, notorius for cl that start as low as 75.00. will not convert to discover version, and cl will grow very slowly if at all. that being said they pass out store cards like pez, walmart, sams, ikea, etc, etc...

Re: walmart

75.00??????  omg
i only have one store card--Blair.  they gave me a whopping 200.00 and it's been over a year.  i am going to call and cancel if they don't give me enough to shop with.  The bank turned me down but Blair said I was pre-approved so insisted I get this 200.  I have been thinking about Kohls. How's that one?

Re: walmart

GEMB is also the bank that mismanages the Old Navy/ Gap/ Banana Republic line.

I've come across some of those stories, yet I still broke down for the GapCard this holiday. I like the free online shipping, 10% off Tuesdays monthly and that it seems to be a decent rewards card (percentage). Not to mention, I want to make sure I'm on their mailing list. I shop at Gap and ON mostly for DD and usually in their clearance section. Then I resell the clothes at consignment for pretty close to my original purchase price. That name brand carries some weight. Smiley Happy

My PayPal MC is GEMB, got it in August. My only GEMB prior to Gap. I tried for a CLI recently and was declined, something about not having an account with them for long enough.

I have to agree, they do seem stingy with CLs. And I've been PIF at least 1 week before the due date to help minimize issues with GEMB.

Re: walmart

When I got my walmart card they gave me $150.
I tried to get it increased when I got the card they said wait 3 months.
Last night I pushed the CLI button and it said I need to establish 4 months history.

However, 2 weeks ago they gave me $700 for a QVC card.

Re: walmart

I was approved at 190.00 before I realized you had to puch the LUV button yourself every 4 mos I was stuck there.  My CLIs have averaged about 100.00 the last one being 125.00...lol!!! Two years in Dec with a crappy 715.00 CL.

Would that be 4 mos since the last CLI request? Since I just did one for my PayPal/GEMB (at 3 mos old), I should wait another 4 mos? Or shall I try next month?

Luckily with GEMB, you can try the next month.

Re: walmart

Thanks Brammy, I'll try next month. I got so annoyed with the declined CLI I stopped using the card. Maybe I'll keep it in the "drawer" and see if that helps as well. I have been using it and then PIF. I think I forgot to mention, the CL is $800.
