I just buy whatever i want whenever and put it on my citi Thank you premier... I put about 98% of my spending on that card that doesn't include Costco.

This is me everytime. I currently have about $80 credit on my itunes. I'd top it up with a 20% off from ebayt as soon as the credit goes below $30 and still get ebay points and paypal points as well

Target even has them on sale on occasion. If your Target codes as a grocery store, you could use Sallie Mae. If you have the redCard, you can use that, too.
