or they should assume i am even cunning enough to not defaultif they thought i would default then why lend?
hehe
Well, to be more serious, there is a probability that anyone will default, and they measure this through FICO and internal models. If you appear sufficiently risky, they indeed won't give you a card. If you are risky, but potentially profitable, they give you a worse deal (high APR, low CL) and in this case they are able to give lower rewards by not doubling. That doesn't seem usual, even those with say $500 Freedoms at the highest APR still get the 5%. Hence my earlier comment that this was mean.

Soooo is there an official answer to the original question of when the double promo signup ends? I'm still curious lol.
I don't think so, just lots of speculation and a bit of heresay so far.

If it's really true that it ends this month, then I need to get onboard now. Lol. But my scores are low right now due to carrying a BT on my Barclays Rewards card.
But back to Discover, I do have a mailer with a small range of APRs and it specifically mentions the double cash back promo.
Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I applied and was approved for an 'It' card on Sunday just in case the promotion really does end on July 31. I would have preferred to have waited a few months, as I'm already on a 0%APR promo on a couple of cards, but the possibility of missing out on the double-cash was too great to put it off any longer... LOL.
