is it a safe assumption that most all CCs report the balance to the CAs at the end of the month? is there a way to find out EXACTLY what date each individual card reports to the CAs? I just pulled my 3 CRs and found that although it's 3/2/15, my Discover and Capone are still reporting my OLD balances. all 3 cards have zero balances at this time. I want my numbers to be moreless zero when i apply for 2 cards this week. that is why i haven't used a CC in almost a week. Is there a way to have the CCs alert me via text or mail that they've reported?

most report around your statement date.
you can pretty much be sure that if you receive a statement that says $0, that's already reflected to the credit reports too.
sign up for credit monitoring through like creditkarma and creditsesame which are both free and it will show to a certain degree of accuracy when things update.
Most CCC report a few days after the statement cuts. US Bank reports at beginning of the month. You can ask Discover to report mid cycle too.

I don't recommend assuming anything but most cards report on statement date.

If you have your reports they should indicate last report date for each card.

You'd have to check with each of your creditors. Creditors are not all identical and they vary in the alerts that they offer.
