I tend to just use whatever card I feel like to that day lmao
Have a chase Amazon card but barely use it on Amazon lol
i am no where near max of 6000 for groceries on my amex BCP card, and its getting downgraded next month anyways to a BCE. I may as well take advantage of the 6% category while i still have it. Eventually I think when i get my SM card that will be on amazon duty, except when i need to buy an big purchase like an laptop or TV maybe.
No groceries sell Amazon gift cards + to scared to even try that with amex lol.
really thats odd i just goto some of the chain ones here and almost all of them sell them lol. They have an big rack of all these cards lol . They have VGC, amazon, gap, bestbuy, XBOX, PSN, Itunes, Google Play , and an few different chain restuarants lol
I go to Met Foods which is a local chain here. I think the Pathmark had some but I have stopped going there since my Mother crashed our car and total it going only like 30 MPH on the LIE
Last time I was there I was like 13 ish?
All the grocery stores have them where I live. Stop and Shop has a huge selection and even VGC. I am not worried about buying them as I have before on my EDP. I am not really worried about what Amex is going to do I buy them for gifts most of the time either Amazon or VGC. I think if I worried about then I think I am doing something wrong. I am sure Amex know the difference between abuse and general spend.
I buy Amazon gift cards regularly for Gifts but usually through Amazon.com and not in stores since it would be 1% anyways . Getting 3% back on something I do regularly is also a positive but probably won't do it on an Amex card
Didn't you just write this earlier?

You can always buy Amazon eGiftcards. Either to max out your BCP prior to conversion, or in the future to exceed the $750 5% spending cap on a single Salle Mae card. At least until you get more cards with 5% cash back on Book Stores.

how do you crash on the LIE there are so many lanes and they are really really wide !!! :-) Every supermarket i have been to sells them except the high end ones like whole foods and fairway i think.
I think i can invest in some of those amazon cards though, who knows when you need to buy stuff from amazon :-)
One car Stopped suddenly then moved and we were the falling domino's of that lol. It was a 1990 Honda lmao. in total it was like 5-6 cars and we were in the back
ah Fairway havent gone there recently and Ehhh whole foods is just way to expensive though they did just open one in Brooklyn on 3rd Ave right near me so might check it out since I now have a reason to

Ahhh i see , i could see that happening on the LIE since people tailagate like crazy on LIE. I actually like wholefoods stuff better than fairway and i think they are almost the same price. Fairway is closer tho, and they have an interesting wine shop
The Whole foods is closer to me since Fairway is in Redhook and while it has gotten better still wouldn't walk through it

A local Stop&Shop allows $5K a day purchase of VGC (and maybe more). Yesterday (having been trained by CVS who require a DL scan at $1000) I offered my DL when buying $1500. They said that they don't need that unless you are buying $2K or more.
As for Amex knowing the difference between abuse and general spend: those terms are very elastic. For some issuers, for some people, it is always abuse as cash equiv purchases aren't meant to earn rewards. (This is a little strange, none of the T&Cs prohibit buying them, and it is the issuer, not us, who gives the points!)
Back to the OP: Probably the most rewarding way is to buy Amazon cards at an office supply store with Inks. That gives 5x UR. Failing that, and if you don't need the $6K for groceries, getting them from a supermarket with a BCP is also good. And then as mentioned, 5% solutions include directly using Sallie Mae or old Citi Forward, and buying Amazon cards at drug stores or supermarkets with the 5% cards (such as BC,WF,TD). Really lots of choices!

The upromise.com portal has bonus spending at Amazon, but in various strange categories. So I don't find it particularly useful. I do wonder if the Upromise.com credit card gives 5% on all amazon purchases when used via the upromise.com portal though. But, thats just an idle thought
Sallie Mae and US Bank Cash+ are best for Amazon, with 5% available at all times. Discover IT (online purchases) and Chase Freedom (Amazon) have 5% in the 4th quarter.
Because of the wide availability of 5% cash back cards in the Book Stores/Amazon category, it seems a waste to try to get your Blue Cash Preferred to transfer Grocery store cash back to Amazon cash back via gift cards. Especially since BCP does't give more than 4.75% cash back in the best of circumstances. So the simple straightforward way is also the best way.
yeah well i just trying to max out my 6000 in groceries also since its getting downgraded soon as well probably oct or novemeber. SM will be card to replace it for gas and groceries and amazon.

Yeah. I usually buy Giftcards on Amazon.com with whatever card i usually just feel like including Amex though rarely. I wouldn't try doing it with Amex in a store though.

probably Lol
I wonder if you buy food at Ikea would it be considered dining?

I don't know if they differentiate the little sit down cafeteria with the rest of the store. Swedish meatballs sounds really good :-)

4.75% IF you only got it and use it for supermarkets. If you also got it for uncapped 3% in department stores and gas, it can earn almost 3% there and then the full 6% on groceries! Now getting it for gas doesn't make too much sense, but the department store might.
And the Ink card non-straightforward route is better if a) you can use UR well, and b) if you spend a lot at Amazon. The INK cap is much higher than Sallie Mae and Cash Plus.
