My credit scores as follows
EX: 720
TU: 728
EQ: 691
HP's
EX: 3
EQ: 5
TU: 1
avrege age of acounts 7 months
newest card 3 months
oldest card (2 at) 9 months.
Thanks for your help,
Andy
The only thing I can see with your profile is your rather young age of accounts. Amex likes to see very thick profiles. That is not saying that if you just applied you are going to be denied. Your scores are good enough, you may have a chance especially with no baddies. Just for your info, Amex typically only looks at your experian FICO 8 score. I was personally approved for BCE with a FICO of 667 but had I think about 2 years AAOA and 0% uti. I only got 1000 SL but got 3x at 61 days after the last baddie fell off report and score went up.

Amex likes thin profiles. He's ripe for an Amex.
OP: just because you're not pre-qualified doesn't mean you won't get one. I wasn't. Many people I know weren't. They just did a cold app.
I was hoping for decreasing my chances of wasting a ho.
I don't know if it's about thick or thin, really. I got PRG with only 6.5 months of credit history...but it was clean history. No baddies.
Not sure where my utilization was, but I was PIFing my toy limits ($600 and $2,000).
If something has caused someone's EX to drop well below 700, then that may be something to make Amex uneasy.
Hey thats cool. Even better for you. Personally I did not see prequals until my credit aged a bit. But also my EX FICO 8 was lower at the time and I had a medical derog on file. OP you should deff apply then. I only base my info off my roommate who tried a referal link I gave him with a FICO 8 of 700 for a ED. They denied him for not having enough revolving experience. He has 2 cap ones with low CL that he uses ehh ever so often. Maybe he had something else on his profile they didn't like. At the end of the day, your approval is going to be personal to you. Worst case they deny you like they have thousands of people, including me 2x and you can try, try again. When I got my cards from them I had to do a double take becuase I had wanted them in my wallet for so long. I do really like that they will open new accounts without HPs after you are a member!

LOL just saw that. Truly epic. Please dont waste any of them. They need love too.
I got my first Amex which was the no AF Hilton card with 6000 limit when my oldest and only card was 2 months old. didnot have a credit score at the time. 3 months later, got approved for gold. call them for recon, i have 20K spending limit from Amex while still being a student with really really thin file
