Capital One has officially announced a move to the Discover network for its debit cards.

This will be very interesting to follow. I imagine there will be/are plenty of unhappy people as the kinks get sorted out. Have they said if all of the CC will follow?

Nothing specific has been said about credit cards as far as I am aware. The executives have been saying all along that debit cards would switch first. I can only imagine that they have customer data showing who travels internationally where Visa and Mastercard would be needed. Those types of card products and customers would likely be kept as is to minimize outrage backlash.
"If you’re traveling internationally, you can use your new debit or ATM card at merchants and ATMs outside of the U.S., but acceptance may be different than before."
Duh.
Translation: Your debit card will now be useless outside the U.S.
