FYI, there is a problem affecting the status upgrades provided by at least the personal Amex Platinum charge card(s).
Status is downgraded for many Bonvoy members. (EG: Plat gratis Gold Elite -> Silver)
I have no idea if this is affecting the amex Bonvoy cards, so certainly chime in if noticing this issue beyond the personal Platinum card(s).
The issue is known at Marriott and they don't have any specific timeline for resolution. They indicated that it'll be important to document any point earning discrepancies to help ease corrective actions after they nail down the problem.
update: passing the buck phase has begun.
- Initial phone call to Amex, everything checked out. Correct BV member number, enrolled (still) in Gold Elite benefit -- these bases covered by amex apparently satisfy their role in providing this benefit, hence amex directed me to contact Marriott.
- Initial phone call to Marriott seemed to indicate Marriott responsibility ownership. ACK of the problem, case number created, etc. However, response from Bonvoy CS regarding the case number basically take no ownership of the issue and direct me to call the phone number on the back of the amex card, lol.

number listed on the back of their credit card. They will be able to answer
all your questions.
Perhaps you could reach out to The Points Guy (TPG) to intervene. Their website is well known, well publishes, and writes about Amex and Bonvoy on a regular basis. Odds are that some at TPG has a good working relationship with Marriott and Amex.

I forgot about this! Was more of a public service announcement at the time.
There was some issues with the Marriott Bonvoy not renewing the gratis elite status or somesuch.
The Bonvoy status was restored for all those who were affected a little while later.. a week or two IIRC.
