30 days past due

If the status of an account says 30 days past due but it does not show in the history, for example 7/05, will this effect your credit score or does it have to have a late in the history such as a month and year?  I have an account that was never late but shows 30 days past due in the status.

Can you paste the info in your next post? Are you saying you never paid this account late but it's reporting you did back in 2005?

Re: 30 days past due

This account has been closed since May of 2006 and paid off, but yet it states it is 30 days past due with no past due amount.  I am in the process of disputing the late.  Can this effect my credit score with the 30 days past due plus the 30 day lat payment?

Re: 30 days past due

Ok I see it. Do you have proof it was paid on time? Cancelled check, etc.? Is this reporting on all 3 of your reports?

Re: 30 days past due

I do have proof.  It is reporting on Tr and Eq only.

Dispute it as inaccurate. You will need to furnish the CRAs with your documentation.

Does saying it is 30 days past due effect your credit score?

Yes! More so if it's recent, less so as years pass. Dispute as inaccurate. Which CRA is this? FYI, closed and open accounts are scored and weighed equally so it is not good to have a closed TL with a baddie.

Re: 30 days past due

Do you think if I had this adverse information (the 30 days past due and the 30 day late removed) would my credit score go up significantly with no other baddies?

I would like to yes but it's hard to say. How many points are you hoping for?
