yes - absolutely! You can get to 850 without a mortgage in your file.
Clarification - you can get to a Fico 8 score of 850, [No one can get to a Fico 4 or Fico 98 850 score]
I don't know about 850, but I have neither a mortgage nor an installment loan, just credit cards, and my scores range from 803 to 818. The "good credit mix" is seriously overrated, at least once your credit is well established.
What is well established Gunnar? AAoA over what? I know Util needs to stay under 1%. You have major and store cards? How many total cards?
Hey Gunnar! That's really interesting. You do have really high scores. Do you have any closed installment loans?
Do you have any charge cards? (As opposed to credit cards.)
What's your AAoA and your age of oldest account?
As the other folks are saying, mortgages are definitely not needed for the 800 club.

Revolving utilization does not need to stay under 1% for all credit profiles. I'm at ~6% and over 800 on my FICO 8's.

As indicated above, keep in mind that there isn't just one scoring model out there used by creditors. The model will have an impact on score and what is possible for a given credit profile.

You have to keep in mind that many here are building and rebuilding. Some choose to try to eke out every possible point. That said, everyone should keep the size of the Credit Mix slice in mind:
