843 Experian FICO

Went from 761 to 843 yesterday when I was alerted that my new car loan showed up (old loan is still showing as well) ...but score went up because BK finally fell off! 10 yrs of struggling and research to make sure my credit went up. One of my cards is at 45% utilization with making interest free monthly payments, but all others are below 10% and paid off every month. I have auto, student loans and 9 credit cards.. no current mortgage loans. Sooo happy!!!!!
Starting Score:9/2013 630
Current Score: 2/2015 myFICO scores: EQ 730 EX 734 TU 734
Goal Score: 760

Re: 843 Experian FICO

Final major baddies falling off usually give a sweet 60-100 point bump.  Well deserved and congratulations!

Congrats OP!

Also to say a 761 on FICO 8 with a BK showing is a great accomplishment in it's own right, not many of us with a PR on our records get that high.

Re: 843 Experian FICO

Rev, do you know the weight that different major delinquencies/derogs carry relative to one another?  I mean, I assume a BK is the worst, but then other things like COs, collections, 120 day lates, etc?  I'm wondering if the data is out there that gives us a good idea of how we'd rank these negatives in order of most impactful to score to least impactful.

Solid work! Now you can go get a nice mortgage with the best rate possible..maybe even push you eventually to 850.

Re: 843 Experian FICO

Congratulations!  Such a great accomplishment!

I hope to experience something similar in about 6 to 8 months, when I try for some EE's. My FICO 8's are in the 736-747 range, with a foreclosure and a credit card settlement reporting from 2011/2012.  I am hoping that much like you have experienced, when the two major baddie's fall off, I should go over 800.  My FIco 9 scores are already in the 780-790 range.

Again, congratulations on such a great recovery!

Year 2012: All Scores in the 520 range, during a foreclosure, CC Settlement and high UTIL. Very ugly days...
Sept 2024: EX8: 847; EQ8: 850; TU8: 848 -- Middle Mortgage Score: 821
In My Wallet: Discover $73.7K; Cap1 Venture $51.7K; Amex ED $38K; Amex Optima $2.5K; Amex Delta Gold $18K; Citi Costco $24.5K; Cap1 Plat $8.4K; Barclay $7K; Chase Amazon $6K; BoA Plat $21.6K; Citi TY Pref $22K; US Bank $4K; Dell $5K; Care Credit $6.5K. Total Revolving CL: $300K+
My UTIL: Less than 1% - Only allow about $20 a month to report, on one account. .
