A quick question

I received my tax refund 2/1/08.

From it the government deducted around $520 because I owed back part of a Pell grant from having to drop out of college a few semesters back because of transportation/childcare issues.  (I didn't even know I owed money back until I filed my taxes and had a link under the where's my refund info on the irs site)  I'm glad it got paid I intended to pay it anyways, but the derog on my CR's from the Us Dept of Edu hasn't been updated on any of the 3 bureaus since Dec of 07.

Would it be a good idea to call them or GW the DoE and ask them to at least update my reports as paid, if not delete the issue from them all together?

Thanks again,
Ja' Net

Uncle Sam doesn't do GW, at least not officially through official channels.

Best bet is to dispute with the CRAs as inaccurate, and hope you get it deleted via unofficial GW. Some OCs and CAs have been known to engage in this and even implicitly recommend it.
