Active Duty alert

I know that the "active duty alert" is basically a 1 year fraud alert. Is it labeled as an active duty alert on my reports or just a fraud alert?

Was worried a creditor might do AA while on AD if it thought I was a regular fraud victim and didn't know if it was labeled differently.

Re: Active Duty alert

It is an entirely different provision of the FCRA with different conditions, and thus will be identified as such.

Re: Active Duty alert

Thank you

Do I still need to inform my creditors that I will be overseas or does the active duty alert do that for me?

Re: Active Duty alert

See FCRA 605A(c) for a complete description of the impact of an active duty alert.

The notice is put in your file, and must be included in any credit report.

The CRAs provide cross-notice of active duty alerts to the other CRAs, but not to each creditor.
