Someone, I don't even know who, added me as an authroized user to a card with a high balance. Enough to significantly lower my score. What are my options? It says Citicards... Cnba. I called Citicards and got the run around for 30+ minutes then was told I have to write a letter with a copy of my credit report and SS number and mail it to them so they can look into it. That's a ton of work for a mistake on their end. Is there an easier way to resolve this? Can I get a card and just run up the bill so the person removes me?
So did you discover this on your credit report? As far I know only the primary holder can order you a card..
I think I would call citi back and ask for their fraud department.I am sure you will still have to send information though as this is usually how it works but maybe someone could give you a better idea of what's going on.
If its on your CRs dispute it before doing anything else if it comes back verified then move forward.

How did you find this out? If indeed on your CR, dispute as @gdale6 said.
As to your last sentence. Of course, this would not solve the problem (spite) because then your UT would just shoot up some more and lower your score even further.
