Adding SSN/ITIN to credit profile difficult?

If I add an SSN/ITIN to a credit card after its issued, will it update my credit bureau afterwards?

My wife was going to do a global transfer with amex, so they pull her Canadian credit file to grant a US amex. However she doesn't have her ITIN yet. So she will have an Amex, in the US, with her US address posting to the credit bureau. But when the ITIN is ready, does she contact amex or the individual credit bureaus to update with ITIN?

It's possible to have a credit profile at the CRBs without a SSN, they'll match other info like address and DOB, see the link below.

Once you have a SSN you can provide it to AMEX and other creditors and it should eventually update your credit profiles.

She contacts lender, lender reports it
