Did they send proof of your payment? That has to be sent as well since that establishes you were the owner of the card. I suggest you get free help at the courthouse and take all your paper work. I know here in NY they offer free help, so hopefully your courthouse offeres help as well.
No, unfortunately they say they can't give legal advice and will only offer information from the file.
Also they did not offer proof of payment, just the two statements showing the account past due.
I don't believe the previous poster was stating getting help from the court. At least that's not what's done here in IL. I believe, and I agree with, she was referring to some type of legal aid help, which they generally would have at the courthouse.
You can try the "denial" defense and hope they don't argue that you saying the claim was time barred was some sort of implied admission. That's definitely your best bet because it sounds like they don't have proof that you own the debt. Most cases they don't.

The only legal help here is for emergency cases were you are in danger of losing your kids or house, etc. I was very careful not to acknowledge the debt in the sol notice.
Okay, then you can give it a try. I've won cases that way and, as I stated before, they almost never have the necessary paperwork needed to prove their claim.
Good luck and keep us posted!
