I have a large collection as I've been on forums for a LONG time. Even opened a few of my own lol. Closed now, too much work.

The best way is to just google smilie (subject)  like "smilie thank you."

Save to your computer & then upload here to the boards when you post. Right through the add photos feature or directly to your album.

You can also right click steal 'em from other people. LOL

Note: Lately there's been an issue with some of them loading.. I posted about it on the tech board so be aware some smilies are not uploading properly.  AAAHELP.gif

They don't have CFA on the listing on your credit report but they score as negatives so the effect on your score is still not a plus.

They score the same as a CFA and/or a payday loan- NOT good.

I'm not sure what you mean above.  If it's coded as a CFA, that can adversely impact score.  If it isn't coded as a CFA, how would the FICO algorithm know to score it like a CFA?

I'm not sure..

I don't understand how it works- not nearly as well as some, like yourself.

It shows an an installment loan on my CR but they are a neg affect on my score.

Do CFAs actually list as such on your CR in the details? I posted the pics of them being a factor before (it said too many cfas) but they're called Inst Loans in the report.

Is that out of norm?

If they were just installment Loans why would they ding my score so badly?

I'm at a loss. My reports all have the same items, save these Affirm loans and I have only 1 inq on EX and I have 2 on TU and 4 on EQ.

I did dispute them ALL with EX so I'll see where that goes. If they don't come off, I'll appeal to Affirm directly and lastly file with CFPB.

I want them removed. I'm going to fight it until I can't.

ETA: I just checked my actual report on My Fico and they're listed as OTHER

Re: Affirm

If you're seeing a negative reason statement pointing to the presence of a CFA, it's definitely coded as a CFA.  The problem with MF or any other CMS really is that the reports they provide you aren't your "real" credit reports, the way you'd see them in hard-copy form sent from the CRAs.  On your real credit report I have little doubt that the account would show up properly.  CMS reports can be off at times.  I've compared 2 reports from two different CMS's (say CK and CCT) and one will list an account as a revolver and the other list the same account as an installment loan.  Clearly, they both can't be correct.

Oh my gosh Thank YOU!  000thankyou-1.gif

It clears up a lot.

I have not looked at an actual hard copy of my report and I have no doubt you're correct.

I have searched around the Net, a LOT and many people are complaining that "Affirm is great but it damages your score", "Affirm is a CFA"  etc..

I'm going to work very hard at getting rid of them- based on the fact they advertised they were better for your score than using CCs and that they didn't report when I joined. I may be SOL but it doesn't hurt to try.

If I get them removed I'll open a thread on how it affects my score.

Thanks again..

Re: Affirm

Thank you Pikaboo and BBS for the tutorial on CFA reporting and CRA files. I am in the garden for the next year so I was just looking into Affirm as I came across them while shopping online.

Affirm does not sound like a good option for either credit or thickening your file. I just had not come across anyone mentioning Affirm on the boards and when I searched there really wasn't anything of substance.

Your FICO credit scores are not just numbers, it’s a skill.

My Affirm loan didn't report as a CFA, nor did it negatively impact my score.
