Curious to know if any known CSR or CC workers lurking on these boards? I'm pretty sure they are lurking here anonymously.

Cool! I would love to ask but in reality, US Bank won't do business with someone who recently file for Bankruptcy, chapter 7 (althought I didn't include US Bank). Am I right?
(If you must know, my BK was a result from bad divorce where she charged up with all these debts...from my 800+ credit scores! Oh well, this time I am rebuilding and focusing to show that I can be trusted with credit again. ![]()
OTOH, it's good to know there's people like you lurking here (and to help with answering any questions). Cheers to that!

Sorry to commandeer the thread, but if you don't mind answering...
I have a US Bank Secured Visa that is nearly 2 years old. I have one 30 days late from July 2015. Does US Bank ever remove those after a GW letter? Also, I tried once to unsecure my card, unsuccessfully. What are the basic standards for achieving that?
Thanks in advance!

You most likely wont get any luck with getting lates removed form a CRA. US Bank is big on "reporting accurate information". That being said it certainly doesn't hurt to try, you might get lucky. As for unsecuring how long after your lates did you apply for an upgrade? To even be eligible for an upgrade you need to have the card open for at least a year, and no late payments,and do not go over the limit in the 6 months prior to requesting the upgrade. If you meet that, you won't be "insta-declined" and it will go to underwriting for review. Unfortunately I cannot speak on behalf of what their standards are or what they look at in order to approve the request, as it's not my department. (I am working on trying to move into underwriting while I am still in school though, so maybe I will be more useful in the future!
)
RE CALIFORNIA MAILMAN:
As mentioned above I can't give any specifics (really because I don't have a great idea of what the underwriting standards are), but in conversation with a few cardmembers while activating their cards, they did mention things like "I'm glad to have this card so I can get past my bankruptcy and start re-building again". Now I know that's really weak evidence and at best hearsay, but I would tend to not doubt that they have gone through bankruptcy because I don't think callers would have a reason to lie to me about that.

Thank you. That's pretty helpful.
I think I attempted to unsecure about 5 months after the late, but I don't think I realized it was there. I'll keep on the path I've been on - keeping low utilization, paying off every month.
Thanks again.
