To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing today to ask for your assistance. I am a customer who has re-established a good record of keeping my account current, and I hope you will consider a goodwill adjustment in the reporting of this account to the credit bureaus.
I went through a divorce in December of 2006, and through the following months, I had to juggle many accounts while setting up my new housing, and I was unable to make four payments on time during those transition months.
Your representatives were very nice and helped me to get my account current. I have since been quite diligent in paying the account.
I am writing today to request a minor adjustment of removing one or more of the recent late payment notations. I am hoping to apply for a mortgage soon, and this adjustment might make the difference in getting approved. I ask that you give me the opportunity to improve my credit rating by revising the account entry with the credit reporting agencies to remove one or more of the most recent 30 day late entries .
Your customer support staff has been so very helpful. I have used Chase in the past (I had a Chase credit card from 1998 through 2003 and never once had a late payment,) and I will continue to do so whenever I can. I ask for your consideration, and I would be happy to provide any additional documentation that might help in reaching a positive outcome.
Thank you for the time you have spent reading this letter.
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing today with a sincere thank you. I recently requested a revision to my credit reporting history, and your company graciously offered to remove a 30 day late payment from my account. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
As I mentioned in my request, I went through a divorce in December of 2006, and during that time I had to juggle many accounts while setting up my new housing, and I was unable to make those payments on time during those transition months.
Your representatives have been very nice, and helped me to get my account current. I have since been quite diligent in paying the account.
I am writing today to request just one more revision. I am formally applying for a mortgage next month, and my loan officer at Chase Home Finance suggested that the longer it has been since my last late payment report on my credit reports, the better my chances for being approved and finally being able to purchase a home.
I am requesting that you give me the opportunity to improve my credit rating by revising the account entry with the credit reporting agencies to remove one or more of the most recent 30 day late entries .
Your customer support staff has been so very helpful. I have used Chase in the past (I had a Chase credit card from 1998 through 2003 and never once had a late payment,) and I chose Chase Home Finance for this very reason. I ask for your consideration, and I would be happy to provide any additional documentation that might help in reaching a positive outcome.
Thank you for the time you have spent reading this letter.
Sincerely,
To: Controller of My Destiny
Good Day. I am writing to you in regards to a delinquent payment on my part to your company WAY back in March of 2003. I am humbly requesting that you greatly consider removing this negative remark from my credit report. As you can see on my account, I have been a loyal customer for eight years (as of this month) and only had that one little, tiny, miniscule overdue payment.
While this does not seem like an enormous blemish on a credit report, I want to stress the importance of my request. I am going to attempt to purchase my very first home (ever) this year and am doing everything within my power to slowly creep my credit score up so that I will not have to sell my soul to the devil in order to get a decent interest rate.
Again, while this would seem to be a minor effort on your part and in the grand scheme of things, it would greatly improve my chances of buying a home for me and my children, and restore my faith in humanity.
Please let me know if you have any questions, require additional information, or if you just want to call and tell me that you’ve made my dreams come true. My number and email address are below. I appreciate anything you can do.
The result? They removed the late AND increased my limit by $150. Just keep in mind this is NOT a major credit card and was not a new late.
Hope this helps!
