Apple iPhone Upgrade Program - CC's

Hi all.

(Mods, please move to correct topic- not sure where to post)

I'm very interested in upgrading my iphone and would really like to do Apples upgrade program, as part of their program is giving you an unlocked phone. As I travel internationally, this is a huge selling point for me.

Because I've gotten a few new credit lines in the past year, I have a few inquires on my report, and was wondering:

1) Will my current CC creditors see this inquiry and be worried?

2) Would this inquiry hurt the same as a CC?

3) Does anyone know what bureau the financial company Apple uses pulls on? (I believe it is Citizens One)

Current Stats:

About 4 new accounts in last 8 months.

EQ: 5 Inquries. CK Score: 750

TU: 5 Inquries. CK Score: 742

EX: Probably around the same.

25 years old. Scores around 740. Income = 45K. Chase Car Loan @ 2.4%, AAOA = 2 years. Total Personal CL = 120k.

Re: Apple iPhone Upgrade Program - CC's

I was in the Apple store yesterday because my daughter shattered her phone.  I was declined in the store... Smiley Sad  so far though, no inquiry alerts yet and normally I get an immediate alert

Re: Apple iPhone Upgrade Program - CC's

Op- I took a hard pull from Citizen's one on Sept. 25 at the apple store. I was declined. They pulled EQ, I received an instant alert immediately. When I receieved the decline letter in the mail. it said declined due to too many inquiries in the past 3 months. If you only have 5 on EQ I would say you are fine, even with that CreditKarma score. I have a lot more than that.

We can't say for certain.  It's all a matter of your credit profile and how your creditors assess your profile.  Don't assume that they're all identical.

An HP is an HP.

Unless you have creditors that use VantageScores the scores from CK aren't really relevant.  You cannot use a score generated by one model to determine the score generated by another model -- even if both models are FICO's.

Update....I did get an inquiry alert on CCT.  They pulled EQ.  I'm asuming my denial will be inquiries too, maybe other reasons as well. .....Smiley Surprised

Re: Apple iPhone Upgrade Program - CC's

From what I have read.seen.experienced, I think a clean EQ with low inquiries and score of at least 660-670 should qualify. Sub-600 scores no go for sure.
