I plan on getting an Auto loan in April but I also want to app for an AMEX EDC, should I apply for the AMEX before or after the auto loan? Or should I apply same day?
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.
Do you currently have an open installment loan such as a car loan mortgage loan or similar? If not, then getting the car loan first could increase your credit score.
However, if you have many inquiries on your account, and if AMEX is sensitive to inquiries, the additional inquiries from the auto loan could be detrimental. (I don't know how much AMEX cares about inquiries)
And many other considerations.
In short, we can give you estimates for what the more ideal option would be, but not without more information about your credit profile.
Since April is right around the corner, I'd wait and apply for a Card after the Auto. Anything that affects your score prior to the auto loan can drive up your APR. I'd rather get the lowest APR on my car over that of a CC. I don't think it's ever wise to app for CCs just prior to any fixed loan like an Auto or Mortgage.

After you close on the auto loan.
