Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

I agreed to a consent judgement where I make automatic monthly pymts and it will be paid off 12/07.  I did not have to go to court.  The law firm called and I agreed to pay.   I received the papers in the mail and signed and returned them.  It has not shown up on any of my CRs.  Does this mean that when it is paid they still won't report it?  Or should I make a request for them not to report it now before it is paid off?

Re: Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

Not sure if this will help but I just recently the first of this month had a
Judgement go all the way too garnishment and I called the attornies
suing me and paid them with a cashiers check CMMR just before the garnishment started
and so far they have not reported as per there promise but I had asked up
front what they would be willing to do for me, now I knew nothing about getting
things in writing as I discovered here in the forums after but so far so good.
I will keep you posted as to what happens in the coming weeks.
They did get 3 weeks of garnishment that they will send back as the company
and the lawyers screwed up in not stopping it until last week.

Re: Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

Thanks Tmleverage for your response. Will keep eye out. I could not find anywhere in the paperwork where it addressed reporting to CRAs, unless I missed it. But so far they have not reported it while I have been making pymts. We shall see after 12/07.

Re: Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

In most states I believe you MUST have a court hearing to have a judgment or garishment placed against you. SO in both of your cases it should never appear.Check your state laws

Re: Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

Mine was a court hearing and I did the no show last year as I was still
in credit denial at that time..
Jeez I quit drinking 17 years ago in my mid early 20's, I never smoked
and now I am cleaning up my credit neglect so the only vice I have left is
eating and well you know...Smiley Wink

Re: Are consent judgements reported to CRAs?

I would have ignored a court hearing also IF I had not found this forum!!!!!

Possibly because I saw too much as a kid, I never drink. BUT OMG I am a chain smoker!!!! I have tried everything to stop. I am alergic to the meds used  to help you stop & can not be hypmotized (spelling duh). I hate smoking & also suffer severe asthma.

i congradulate you on not drinking!

doing this forum not just helps me clean my credit but I don't smoke as much. Usually I smoke more when on the PC. really wierd.

I would see if you can get something from the in writing just syaing that they won't report it to the CRAs and then you will covered.
