Are disputed accounts suppressed on credit report?

When an account is disputed because the balance owed is wrong, is that account suppressed on the report while the investigation takes place?

I believe that certain aspects of a disputed account are ignored by the FICO scoring model, any late payments, balances, etc are ignored until the dispute is investigated

Yes, certain aspects of the TL are removed from Fico scoring while in dispute status.
