Authorized User (Previously)

I was an authorized user on my wife's credit card.  $16k balance/$21k available. (weddings get expensive quickly). Though I have been removed as an authorized user for several months and all three credit reporting agencies reflect as much, the $16k balance is included in my revolving credit amount for purposes of FICO.  Other than the high balance, the account is in good standing with no negatives re payment.  Both of my personal credit cards are under 10% balance to available (relatively low credit limits).  So, my question is, do I dispute the account with credit agencies as "not my account," or do I pay down my wife's card as quickly as possible.  I'm not certain which will raise my FICO scores quicker.  (and i'm worrie that removing account may actually lower my score).  I'm attempting to qualify for mortgage, and have been informed that lender makes determination based on whichever spouse's credit score is lower, which is me.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: Authorized User (Previously)

If you dispute it- it will be removed from your credit report.
