I am an authorized user on my sisters credit card account. She has had this credit card for 12 years. I have been an AU for 5 years now. It did help build my credit score a bit in the beginning, but now her utilization is at 81%. Due to personal financial issues she cannot pay more than her minimum payment to lower her utilization until she believes about 12 months from now. My scores are not all that great, but I am still working on them because I would like to purchase a home next year if the interest rates to get better. Here are my present scores: TU 630 EX 615 EQ 640.
My credit report credit age is 5 years; 7 months. Should I remove myself as an authorized user? Her card balance is $12,000, credit limit is $15,000.
Thank you in advance for your answers!

Yes you should remove yourself as an authorized user.
Unless that's your only card, in which case I don't know what you should do.

I have other cards in good standing for over 5 years now. So I will remove myself as an AU user. Thank you!
