Auto Lease and cosign

I am trying to figure out ways to increase my credit score from 608 and have recently paid off most of the credit balances.  By most I mean I have it below 10% credit usage overall.  I only have a couple cards, so that part was fairly easy... one card is about $150 out of $2000 credit line.. and another is $25 out of $500.

I have an auto lease that my wife cosigned on (because she has a high credit score).  When looking for a home loan, the mortgage company told her that it would be better for me if I did not have a cosigner.  When looking at my credit report, though, I can't even find that information saying it's a cosigned lease.

What advice does anyone have?  Would it help to try to get her removed from the lease (if it's even possible, which I doubt)?  Why would that even affect my credit rating?  I have paid on time, so it seems to me that it would only be beneficial.

Re: Auto Lease and cosign

You aren't losing points for having a co-signer, as far as I know-- if that is what you are asking.

As for your CC, if you only have 2, let only 1 report a balance and keep that balance below 9% total and individual util. That should get you a few extra points.
