Well I just checked my US Bank iPhone app and it does have a box / click saying “Location Services. Reduce card decline and improve account security “. This leads to a page suggesting turn on location services. So with my selections, I have not opted in.
Location on services on all my bank apps are only “while using”.
I am not disputing that location data may play some role in approvals, but it is only one of many inputs to the algorithm at each bank.
